The Anime Club of Truman State University is a club with several goals. Firstly, we believe that animation is a valid medium for telling serious, mature stories, and is not just for children. We therefore show anime (animation), and promote animation in general. Secondly, since most of our animation comes from Japan, and East Asia in general, we also study and promote East Asian culture, and do independant study of their lifestyle, cuisine, and culture.

We have three meetings a week, with varying attendence. Our Friday meetings are primarily devoted to showing anime, chosen by members of the club, and often voted on. Wednesdays, we meet to distribute advertising materials. And Sundays, we have an Administrative meeting to deal with paperwork and other administrative overhead. The minutes of these meetings are published on the forum after each meeting.

The officers of the Anime Club are elected by the members of the club, and their positions have a duration of one school year. Elections take place in the spring term prior to their assumption of authority.
