Kobayakawa Sena is a cowardly high school freshman, made to run errands for people using his unnaturally good running skills. Because he has been a gofer since he was little, he has decided to change himself when he entered Deimon High School. Coincidentally, Hiruma Youichi and Kurita Ryuukan are looking for a fast running back for their American Football team, and they want Sena. To hide their new 'star' player from the eyes of other High Schools, Hiruma encases Sena in a helmet with a dark visor and names him Eyeshield #21.

In Victorian-era London, on the night of Ciel Phantomhive's tenth birthday, a fire destroyed his manor and killed both of his parents. A moment before his death, Ciel strikes a deal with a demon, his soul in exchange for revenge. This demon becomes his butler and calls himself Sebastian Michaelis, to protect and serve Ciel until the deal has been completed. One month after the fire, Ciel returns as the head of the Phantomhive corporation, handling all business affairs as well as his work as the Queen of England’s guard dog and looking for his parents' murderers.

In the distant future, mankind has taken to the stars and formed the Galactic Alliance of Humankind. 16-year-old Ensign Ledo is a soldier for the Galactic Alliance, piloting a Machine Caliber, an AI-automated, humanoid-shaped battle suit, which he refers to as 'Chamber'. During a battle with an alien species known as the Hideauze, Ledo is knocked into a wormhole and loses consciousness. When he awakens, he learns that he has crash-landed on a mysterious new planet.

In The World you can be anyone you want to be, act out your adventure fantasies and through teamwork and determination, you can even become a hero. Tsukasa is a detached and introverted character who can’t seem to log out of the World. While The Crimson Knights continue to look for reasons as to why Tsukasa can’t log out, he searches for the mysterious Key Of The Twilight. Meanwhile, several of Tsukasa's friends try to help him understand who he really is and how he can return to the real world.
